§ 5.44.030. Contractor licensing board—Membership—Term.

  • The contractor licensing board of the city is established.

    A.

    The mayor, with consent of city council, will appoint nine members to the contractor licensing board who are representative of the construction industry. Members appointed must include at least one of the following licensed contractor classifications: Class A, Class B, Class C, and a design professional representative of the general public.

    B.

    Members will be appointed for a four-year term and may be re-appointed for additional four-year terms. If a vacancy occurs, the board's chairperson, or the chief building official, will notify the mayor who will fill the vacancy for the unexpired term through appointment with city council approval.

    A member may be removed from the board by the governing body for frequent absences from meetings, malfeasance, or failure to refrain from voting where a conflict of interest exists.
