§ 8.60.183. Owner may recover proceeds from sale.

At any time within one year after the disposal by sale of a junk vehicle, the former owner of the junk vehicle may recover the proceeds from such sale, less all costs incurred and assessed by the city, by filing a claim with the city treasurer. Upon proper proof of former ownership, the city treasurer shall issue a check in favor of such claimant for such amount, subject to any priority claims and pursuant to applicable state statutes. If no claim is made by the former owner within one year after the date of sale, such proceeds shall be credited to the general fund of the city treasurer as a recovery and the former owner shall be precluded from any claim to such proceeds.
