§ 2.76.020. Members—Terms—Vacancies.

  • A.

    The affairs of the authority shall be under the direct supervision and control of a board consisting of nine members appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the governing body. A majority of the members, except any member from the governing body, shall reside, be a lessee or own property in the downtown development district.

    B.

    The board shall be constituted as follows:

    1.

    At least one member shall be a member of the governing body appointed to serve at the pleasure of the governing body;

    2.

    Two members shall be appointed for a term expiring June 30, 2015;

    3.

    Four members shall be appointed for a term expiring June 30, 2017; and

    4.

    Two members shall be appointed for a term expiring June 30, 2018.

    C.

    A member shall hold office until his or her successor has been appointed and qualified. After the terms of the initial members have expired, the terms of all members, except the appointed member of the governing body, shall expire four years from the expiration date of the terms of their predecessors. Appointments to fill vacancies shall be for the unexpired term, and shall be made within thirty (30) days after the occurrence of the vacancy.

    D.

    Board members shall serve without compensation, but may be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses.
